How to earn money on TikTok LIVE — Coins, Gifts, Diamonds and everything after

The gifting loop: Coins → Gifts → Diamonds → cash

Coins are what viewers buy. They're sold in the TikTok app in bundles, and the price per Coin is roughly one US cent, a little more in small bundles and a little less in big ones.

Gifts are what viewers spend Coins on during your LIVE. A Rose costs 1 Coin. A Galaxy costs 1,000. The big animated gifts — Lion, TikTok Universe — cost tens of thousands. When a viewer sends one, everyone in the room sees it, which is the whole point: gifting is public generosity.

Diamonds are what you receive. TikTok credits your balance with Diamonds for each gift but publishes no fixed rate: creator communities report roughly half the gift's Coin count, some report one Diamond per Coin, and the rate can vary by region. A Diamond cashes out at about US$0.005, while a Coin costs the viewer more than a cent at retail — so your cash works out to roughly 20–40% of what the viewer paid on the website, less if they bought in the app. That gap is VAT, app-store fees and TikTok's platform share; it is the same for every creator, in a network or not, and no agency can change it.

Cash is what Diamonds become when you withdraw. The conversion is published by TikTok: about US$0.005 per Diamond.

What popular gifts are worth to you

Two things are certain: what the viewer pays, and that a Diamond cashes out at about US$0.005. The one thing TikTok does not publish is how many Diamonds a gift credits. Most creator communities and calculators report about half the gift's Coin count; others report closer to one Diamond per Coin. So the honest table shows the range — and the exact figure is on your own Balance screen after your next gift. The "viewer pays" column uses TikTok's own website price in Saudi Arabia: SAR 1,364.96 for 29,990 Coins, about SAR 0.0455 per Coin, VAT included.

Read the Lion row: a Saudi viewer pays about SAR 1,365 on the TikTok website (more in the app), and the creator cashes out roughly SAR 281 to 562 — between a fifth and two-fifths of the web price, and less of an app-store price. The lesson most new creators miss: volume beats whales. A room of 80 regulars sending Roses and Finger Hearts every night out-earns one Lion a month — and it's repeatable.

Withdrawing your Diamonds

• Minimum: in most MENA countries you can withdraw once your balance reaches the equivalent of US$100. There is also a per-day maximum.
• Where: Profile → Balance → LIVE Rewards (the wording changes occasionally) → Withdraw.
• Methods: TikTok shows the payout methods available in your country when you set up withdrawals. The account name must match your TikTok identity details.
• Timing: typically a few business days after you request it.
• Who touches it: nobody but TikTok and your bank. Not ORO Live, not any manager, not anyone "helping you withdraw" on WhatsApp. If someone offers, it's a scam.

What actually drives gifting (and what doesn't)

After coaching creators across two regions, the pattern is consistent. Income tracks these five things, in this order:

1. Hours in your prime-time window. Same days, same times, every week. The algorithm and your regulars both reward it. Saudi prime-time windows → · UAE →
2. A room of regulars. Twenty people who come back every night are worth more than a thousand who drop in once. Learn names. Say them.
3. How you handle the first gift. Thank it out loud, immediately, by name, with real warmth. The second gift comes from someone who watched you do that.
4. Goals and moments. Gift goals, milestones, matches, a reveal at 500 Diamonds — reasons to gift now rather than later.
5. Format clarity. A viewer should know within ten seconds what your room is about. Titles, covers and the first minute of every stream do that job.

What doesn't drive gifting: follower count, expensive gear, or begging. Rooms that ask for gifts constantly get muted; rooms that earn them get regulars.

Tax notes for MENA creators

Neither Saudi Arabia nor the UAE levies personal income tax on individuals, so LIVE gift income is generally not taxed at the personal level in either country. Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman are similar. Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon and Iraq do tax personal income in various ways, and rules on digital income are evolving.
