Your first 30 days on TikTok LIVE: a week-by-week plan

Most new creators quit in month one — not because they lack talent, but because nobody told them what the first month is supposed to look like. Here is the plan we run with every creator who joins ORO Live.

The plan in one box

  • Week 1: five short LIVEs (30–45 min), same time each night. Goal: comfort and a routine, not numbers.
  • Week 2: longer sessions (60–90 min) in your prime-time window; learn the gift thank-you rhythm.
  • Week 3: first LIVE Matches with a paired creator; first gift goal; first campaign invite if eligible.
  • Week 4: review your numbers, keep what works, plan month two.
  • Measure only four things: hours streamed, average viewers, gifts per hour, and returning viewers.

Week 1 — Show up, same time, every night

Your only job in week one is to make going LIVE normal. Pick a window inside your audience's evening (9 pm to 1 am for Saudi Arabia and the UAE), pick five nights, and stream 30–45 minutes each. Do not chase viewer counts. Rooms of three people are fine — they are the first three regulars.

Set a title with a topic ("Answering your questions about starting a business in Riyadh"), a clear cover, and open every stream the same way: greet by name, say what tonight is about in one sentence, and ask the room one question. If nobody answers, answer it yourself and keep talking. Silence is the number-one reason week-one creators panic and quit.

Week 2 — Longer rooms, and the gift rhythm

Move to 60–90 minute sessions. This is where TikTok's LIVE recommendation starts working for you: longer sessions with steady watch-time get pushed to more feeds. Two habits to build now:

  • The first gift. Thank it out loud, immediately, by name, with real warmth. The second gift almost always comes from someone who watched you do that. Here's how gifts become Diamonds and cash.
  • The dead minute. Every room goes quiet around minute twenty. Have three prepared bits ready — a story, a question, a quick demo — and use them the moment comments slow.

Week 3 — First Match, first goal, first campaign

Your manager pairs you for your first LIVE Match with a creator at your level — not a whale who will crush you. Do two matches per session at most. Set your first gift goal (a small one you will actually hit) and announce what happens when the room hits it. If you are in a Creator Network and eligible, your first TikTok campaign invitation usually lands this week; accept it — campaigns are exposure you cannot buy.

Week 4 — Review, keep, cut

Sit down with your numbers (in a network, your manager pulls them from LIVE Backstage): hours streamed, average viewers, gifts per hour, and how many viewers came back three or more times. Keep the nights and formats that produced returning viewers. Cut the ones that didn't. Then plan month two — same times, one longer session on your best night, and one new format to test.

What not to do in month one: buy followers, beg for gifts, stream while driving, stream a blank screen, or change your schedule every week. Each one either gets you muted or resets your progress. What gets LIVEs muted or banned →

Gear for month one

A phone, daylight or a ring light, a quiet room and 5 Mbps upload. Nothing else. Buy a microphone when your room is consistently over 50 viewers — not before. Full requirements and equipment notes →

Questions

How long should my first TikTok LIVEs be?

30–45 minutes for the first week, then 60–90 minutes from week two. Short sessions build the habit; longer sessions are what TikTok's recommendation rewards.

How many times a week should I go LIVE as a beginner?

Four or five nights, same time each night. Consistency matters more than any single stream — regular viewers need to know when to find you.

When should I do my first LIVE Match?

Around week three, once you can hold a room for an hour and thank gifters naturally. Match a creator at your level; two matches per session at most.

What should I measure in my first month?

Hours streamed, average viewers, gifts per hour and returning viewers. Ignore follower count and total views — they don't predict LIVE income.
